Life cycle of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd)

Chytridiomycosis is caused by the fungal organism Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis , which has a freeswimming zoospore capable of infecting cohorts and causing significant mortality. Increasing temperature to >23°C may be useful to reduce or eliminate the infection.
