Six grants totaling $1.36M have been awarded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to researchers at several universities to study ways to treat or prevent the spread of white-nose syndrome in bats. The disease, caused by a fungus, has spread across the US and Canada after being discovered in New York and threatens the populations of a wide range of bat species.
More details on the grants to study white-nose syndrome can be read at the Houston Chronicle.
