    Dental abscess, rabbit

A typical example of an extra-oral dental abscess in a rabbit. These abscesses need to be treated like a tumor, ie, complete surgical removal is ideal, because a fibrous capsule is often put down around the abscess, which often makes systemic antibiotic therapy less effective than usual.
