Mixed-breed, coughing dog with lumps
Physical Examination
General appearance
: Patient is of good body weight and muscle mass, with multiple subcutaneous masses on trunk and limbs.
Vital signs
:
Temperature: 38.0° C
Pulse: 75 beats/min
Respirations: 48/min
Skin
: Normal except for areas of exudate associated with ruptured masses.
HEENT
: Sclera clear, mucous membranes bright pink and moist. Mild lymphadenopathy of submandibular and popliteal lymph nodes.
Pulmonary
: Regular but increased rate with no increased effort. No nasal discharge. Lung sounds are harsh over all lung fields. Occasional dry cough during examination.
Cardiovascular
: Capillary refill time normal. Good jugular refill. No murmur or arrhythmia.
Gastrointestinal
: Gut sounds present and unremarkable.
Genitourinary
: Unremarkable
Musculoskeletal
: No pain or swelling of joints. Mild to moderate lameness of right front and hind limbs.
Neurologic
: No cervical nerve deficits or other abnormalities noted.
Mental status
: Quiet, alert, and responsive.
