A 14-yr-old spayed female mixed-breed dog is brought to the hospital by her owner. Approximately 1 hr before presentation, the patient awoke and was unable to walk. The owner gave the patient one tablet of tramadol (on hand due to a history of intervertebral disc disease). Earlier in the evening, the patient vomited twice.
