History of Present Illness

An 11-year-old, castrated, male, mixed-breed dog is brought to the clinic by his owner for further evaluation. He has been limping on the left, front limb for 2 to 3 weeks. Three days before presentation, while jumping, he yelped, fell down, and came up 3-legged lame. The owner recalls that he also yelped 2 weeks ago when being rolled over for ear treatments. He was treated by the referring veterinarian with a nonsteroidal, anti-inflammatory medicine and is now bearing weight on the limb, yet lame to the degree he was before the event 3 days ago.
