Septicemic cutaneous ulcerative disease in a slider turtle. Lesions are most obvious on the plastron (ventral surface) and are frequently mixed infections involving various bacteria and fungi. Superficial sampling reveals contaminants, whereas a biopsy is needed to identify the deeper, causative agent(s).
