A deep ulcer is observed in the central cornea and surrounded by keratomalacia and stromal cellular infiltrate in the left eye of a French Bulldog. The cornea is diffusely edematous due to the severe keratitis, and both conjunctival and episcleral hyperemia and chemosis as well as mucopurulent discharge are observed. Marked suppurative inflammation was identified on cytology, indicating that infectious keratitis was likely, although aerobic bacterial and fungal cultures were negative.
