Saprolegnia on pectoral fins, African glass catfish

Photograph of an African glass catfish with water mold (Saprolegnia) filaments on pectoral fins. It is not uncommon for the pectoral fins of catfish to be caught in netting when they are handled. Pulling out their fins usually removes epithelium, and water molds like Saprolegnia will grow on the damaged, dead tissue.
