High blood pressure causes retinal and choroidal blood vessel changes, with the resultant serum and RBCs entering the eye and causing anterior chamber and vitreal hemorrhages as well as retinal hemorrhages (pre-, post-, and inter-retinal) and retinal detachment (and loss of vision).
