Placing hood for restraint of ostrich, step 1

A short, modified sleeve that extends from the handler's hand to just past the elbow is a common "hood" placed over an ostrich's head to help sedate the bird during restraint. With the hood on the arm, the handler approaches the beak and face of the ostrich to be restrained.
