Potbellied Pig Vaccinations

Generally, young potbellied pigs are given their first vaccinations at or after 4 weeks of age. They are vaccinated a second time 3 to 4 weeks later. Older potbellied pigs with no health care history (such as those that have been adopted from a rescue organization) also need a second vaccination 3 to 4 weeks after the first. Booster vaccinations are given every 6 to 12 months. Possible vaccination combinations include the following:

  • Erysipelas

  • Erysipelas and tetanus

  • Erysipelas, tetanus, and leptospirosis

  • Erysipelas, tetanus, leptospirosis, and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
