Putting the Sloth in Sloths

Wisconsin researchers have discovered that the slow lifestyle of sloths may be an adaptation that allows them to survive on a low-calorie diet of leaves. Because they are so inactive, they can get by on about 110 calories a day – the equivalent of eating 1 plain baked potato.
