GAO Report on Antibiotic Use Oversight

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has issued a new report that calls on the FDA to increase oversight of medically important antibiotics that are used to prevent disease, which do not generally have a limit on duration of use. This would be in addition to the recent FDA rules that prevent medically important drugs from being used for growth promotion in food animals.
