A new study funded by Merck Animal Health surveyed the mental health and well being of veterinarians in the US and compared the findings with those of a long-running national survey of the general population. While there are substantial numbers of veterinarians reporting severe psychological distress, the prevalence is similar to that in the population as a whole.
