Following two years of development, a new model for veterinary school curricula was introduced at the annual conference of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges. The Competency-based Veterinary Education framework identifies “domains of competency” and “entrustable professional activies” and is designed to help colleges update their educational models using evidence-based criteria.
More information on the new education framework for veterinary schools is available from AVMA. The full framework is available from AAVMC.
Recommendations for how to study in veterinary school can also be found in the Merck Veterinary Manual.
