WHO Highlights Rabies Prevention Efforts on World Rabies Day

In an article that highlights the story of a 12-year-old boy from Malawi who was successfully treated for rabies exposure, the World Health Organization (WHO) has illustrated the continuing risks of rabies in much of the world. According to the WHO, more than 99% of human cases of rabies come from dog bites, and more than 59,000 people die from the disease each year.
