Abdominocentesis, serosanguinous sample, horse
This abdominocentesis sample from a horse is characteristic of a strangulating GI lesion. The serosanguinous color is consistent with intestinal necrosis, and the sample is turbid because of elevated protein concentration and total nucleated cell count.
