Cat flea life cycle
The cat flea life cycle consists of egg, larva, pupa, and adult stages. Eggs, larvae, and pupae occur off the host in the local environment of the infested dog or cat. Adult fleas reside on the infested animal. The time from egg to adult depends on the environmental temperature and is shortest in warm weather.
