Contact mucositis, inflammation, dog
Dog with contact mucositis with inflammation associated with soft tissues contacting the tooth surface. A. The ulceration and inflammation associated with the right maxillary canine tooth maintaining the responsible irritant, allergen, or antigen is contributing to this “kissing lesion.” B. Contact mucositis is also evidenced by depigmentation of the buccal mucosa contacting the left maxillary fourth premolar tooth. Note the bright pink color of the buccal mucosa where it would contact the tooth surface and the clinical evidence of attachment loss associated with this tooth.
