The major uterine diseases affecting production animals species are metritis, endometritis, and pyometra. The etiopathogenesis, clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of these diseases vary considerably across species, and each needs to be understood and managed in a disease-specific and species-specific manner. Other uterine disease of production animals include retained fetal membranes and uterine prolapse.
